Drivers Ed Book Caroline B Cooney Summary
Driver's Ed, by Caroline Cooney: Book Summary. Fielding-is the teacher-he is the drivers Ed teacher. He gets the kids confused He wishes he didn’t have to be a teacher. Remy- is in love with Morgan and loves to drive. Her mom just bought her a car so now she’s the first one to turn 16 and get a car. Her mom is 40 and just had a baby. Cooney relies on psychological tension rather than on plot to capture her readers and is less successful here than in the more gripping The Face on the Milk Carton (1990). The story is told alternately from Remy's and Morgan's points of view in prose that is often too stylized; but the anguish of the characters, both teens and adults, is compelling.
Life couldn't be better for 15-year-old Remy Marland. Her driver's education class gives her plenty of driving time, and Morgan Campbell, the boy she has a crush on, is showing signs of returning her affection. Mio gps update. When Remy and Morgan decide to go along with a driver's ed class prank of stealing road signs, it looks to be harmless fun. The dangers of giving in to peer pressure soon become apparent when fun turns to vandalism, and events spiral out of control to a deadly conclusion. Cooney continues to take on the biggest problems teenagers face- conformity, popularity and responsibility-with deep understanding.
The author of the powerful life-and-death novel Flight #116 is Down, Cooney is a past recipient of an American Library Association Best Book for Young Adults award.
